Robert Kipniss: The Graphic Work
Preface by Karl Lunde
Artist's Note by Robert Kipniss
Published by Abaris Books, 1980
Robert Kipniss: The Graphic Work is the first book about Kipniss's prints. It includes two hundred and eight color reproductions of the artist's lithographs made from 1967 to 1979.
"Perhaps the reason why the viewer participates so fully in the landscapes of Robert Kipniss is that increating these imaginary landscapes this artist is sorting out the personal relationships and human problems that all of us deal with every day," wrote Karl Lunde, an art historian and professor at William Patterson College. "In these refined, technically exquisite lithographs, Robert Kipniss movingly portrays the romantic need of urban man to refresh himself in rural nature."
